Here’s a simple idea if you’re trying to remain focused on the basic elements of portfolio management. Just remember the three Rs, or should I say, the three “rights”.
The Right Projects – because every project, program and stream of activity contributes to the strategy,
The Right Time – because all activities, programs and projects are planned to deliver on schedule, without conflict or cannabalisation of other activities, and
The Right Way – because getting anything done relies on the always important ‘hygiene’ factors – having a feasible plan, an appropriate method, useful indicators of success, and useful reporting.
The three ‘Rights’.
Simple… And effective.
