Best Wishes For the Season…

No matter what our beliefs, things are a bit different this time of year. The things we see, the things we hear and the things we do are all a little different.

People are more likely to smile at a stranger; gaze at decorations and twinkling trees; say something nice to people they work with; or cut someone a bit of slack so they can attend a school presentation.

Then, there’s the increased load we all carry as we buy gifts, go to parties and prepare (mentally and physically) for changes to our routines. Perhaps holidays? Laughing with friends and family? Or just watching the telly as the sounds of summer sport fill the house.

This year I am looking forward to January and the tennis – somehow it makes the sights, sounds and feelings of Christmas last longer.

I wish you and your family a wonderful season and all the good things you’d wish for yourselves in 2011.

Merry Christmas…  Diane

WHEN THE BLOOM OF THE JACARANDA TREE IS HERE, CHRISTMAS TIME IS NEAR *

Hiya,

As I was coming onto the bridge yesterday morning I spied the first  jacaranda bloom of the year – does anyone know why that is always the first one?  Just to the left as you come up to the toll booths going  south?

Anyway, I have a personal thing that, as the song says, “When the Jacaranda blooms Xmas time is near”… so I broke out the Xmas playlist and sang a few favs.  (You have permission to remind me of my enthusiasm and excitement any time I grizzle about Xmas music in the next couple of months – but for now its all good).

Hope your day is full of hope and excitement,   Diane
